Sunidhi, an eighth-grade student from Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, recently received this award, earning accolades for her commitment to human values and inspiring her peers to follow in her footsteps. In this engaging conversation, Sunidhi shared her thoughts on the award, its significance, and the role of values in shaping her character.

How did you feel when you learned you had received the Dr Stya Paul Award for Human Values?

Honestly, I was very shocked and surprised! I couldn’t believe that I had been selected among students from classes 6 to 8. But I was also thrilled and very grateful to receive such a prestigious award.

What do you think made you stand out as a recipient of this award?

I believe it’s all about our moral values—our obedience to teachers, how we behave with others, our honesty, and our helpfulness. These qualities truly matter, and I’ve always tried to live by them.

What does this award mean to you personally?

This award is given in memory of Dr Stya Paul, a remarkable personality and a great human being. It reminds me to strive to be like him, even in small ways, and to learn from his teachings. That’s the true essence of this award for me.

How have human values shaped your character?

Human values have played a huge role in shaping my character. I feel it’s my honesty and the good values my teachers instilled in me that helped me earn this award. They helped me build a strong character, and I’m very thankful to them.

Who would you say are your role models?

My role models are definitely my teachers and my parents. They constantly encourage and motivate me, even when I don’t succeed. They always inspire me to try my best.

In your opinion, which values are most important for young people today?

I’d say honesty, obedience, and helpfulness. These values are essential for becoming a good human being, and they’re what we need most in today’s world.
