The values we live by shape who we are and guide us on the path to becoming better individuals, believes Aastha Kapoor, who is studying in Class X at Apeejay School, Model Town. In a candid interview, she shares her rousing journey from receiving the Dr Stya Paul Award for Human Values to now wanting to contribute meaningfully to the world.

How did I feel after receiving the prestigious award?
I felt deeply honoured and humbled to receive the Dr Stya Paul Award. It was a moment of immense pride and joy, recognising my hard work and achievements. The award motivated me to continue striving for excellence in all aspects of life.
What are the core values you believe in?
I believe in the importance of integrity, empathy, self-discipline, and creativity. These values were instilled in me by my parents and teachers, and I have come to realise their significance in shaping my character and guiding my decisions. I strive to uphold these values in my daily life.
How well do you resonate with Apeejay Education’s motto?
Soaring High is My Nature resonated with me deeply. It inspired me to push beyond my limits and strive for excellence in all aspects of life. The motto embodies the spirit of growth, resilience, and ambition that I aspire to, and it motivates me to reach my full potential.
What is your philosophy for leading a positive life?
My philosophy is centred around balance, kindness, curiosity, and resilience. My parents have been my role models, teaching me the importance of these values. I believe that life is a journey, and it’s essential to approach it with a positive attitude, an open mind, and a willingness to learn and grow.
What is your driving force in life?
My driving force is to make my parents proud and contribute positively to society. Their unwavering support and encouragement motivate me to work diligently and pursue my dreams. I am grateful for the values and opportunities they have provided me, and I aspire to make a meaningful impact in the world.
What are the basic human values people should have?
I believe that people should cultivate values like respect, honesty, responsibility, and compassion. These values are essential for building strong relationships, achieving personal growth, and creating a harmonious society. By embracing these values, we can make a positive difference in the lives of others and contribute to the greater good.
