Telangana rolls back schools reopening decision

The Telangana government has deferred commencement of physical classes in schools and colleges from July 1 in view of the pandemic situation. Education minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy announced that online or digital classes for class 1 to postgraduate students will commence from July 1. Students, parents and school teachers welcomed the decision to cancel the reopening of all educational institutions as several reports suggest that children might be hit harder in the third wave of the pandemic. Schools across India have been shut due to the pandemic since mid-March 2020.
