Community awareness programmes are vital in shaping the minds and hearts of school students, preparing them to become responsible citizens. Among these initiatives, nukkad-nataks, or street plays, hold a unique place. These traditional forms of theatre are entertaining and powerful tools for social change and education, especially when performed by young students.

One of the significant benefits of participating in  nukkad-nataks is the development of communication skills. Performing in front of an audience requires students to articulate their thoughts clearly and confidently. This not only enhances their public speaking abilities but also boosts their self-esteem. As they portray different characters and convey important messages, students learn the art of persuasion and storytelling, essential skills in today’s world.

To enhance the same, the students of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park staged an impactful nukkad-nataks titled Jago Grahak Jago for the residents of Sheikh Sarai.

The street play was conducted to raise awareness about the increasing threat of online fraud and the importance of consumer vigilance in today’s digital world. Through a combination of powerful skits and compelling dialogues, the students effectively highlighted various common scams that unsuspecting individuals might encounter, such as phishing, identity theft, and fake e-commerce sites.

The performance was engaging and educational, offering practical tips on recognising and avoiding falling prey to these fraudulent schemes. The students emphasised the importance of being cautious and informed when dealing with online transactions, encouraging the audience to adopt safer practices. Their enthusiasm and commitment to the cause resonated strongly with the audience, leaving a lasting impact on the community.

The initiative was greatly appreciated, as it entertained and empowered the residents with the knowledge needed to protect themselves in the digital age. The event underscored the vital role of consumer awareness and the proactive steps needed to ensure a safer online experience.
