Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad celebrated Janamashtmi on August 27 & 28. Students presented poems, bhajans, dance-dramas and shlokas in a special assembly.
The assembly was attended by the students of all the classes. The students put together ‘Krishna Jeevan Darshan’ chronicling Lord Krishna’s birth and highlighting important lessons from his life such as progressing in life, moving beyond competition and controlling desires and temptations. It appealed to all students to evolve into better human beings.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Ms Deepika Arora congratulated the participants for their excellent performance and sent her good wishes to all. She encouraged the students to adopt philosophies from the Bhagavad Gita as its teachings make us good human beings.
Kindergarten students celebrated the event by dressing up as Radha or Lord Krishna. They prepared Dahi-handi, Makhan Mishri and also decorated a matki (clay-pot).
Class 1 students dressed up as Radha and Krishna and designed cards depicting scenes from the life of Krishna. Class 2 students made a peacock head-gear.
A special workshop was held for students on August 28. They were taught the art of making a 3-D peacock wall-hanging and a swing for Bal-Krishna using paper rolls. The workshop was attended by the students of classes 1 to 8.
“It was on this auspicious day that Lord Krishna was born to fight against inhumanity and save humankind. Let us reinforce our faith in God. Let there be love, happiness and laughter in every one’s life with Lord Krishna’s blessings. Here’s wishing everyone a very Happy Janmashtami!”
