Students in this Charkhi Dadri school pledge to build a greener, cleaner planet

Encouraging students to play their role in protecting the environment, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri recently celebrated Earth Day. The aim of this celebration was to educate students about the significance of preserving the planet’s natural resources while motivating them to do their bit towards making the earth more beautiful and sustainable.

To mark the significance of the Earth Day, a special assembly was organised, wherein everyone took a pledge to preserve and conserve the planet for a sustainable future.

During the day, a range of activities were organised for the students of classes Nursery to 3. The tiny tots of classes Nursery, LKG, and UKG participated in tree plantation activities, which aimed to teach them the importance of trees for the planet’s well-being. They planted saplings and learned about the benefits of trees for our environment, that is  they provide oxygen, purify the air, and help in conserving water.

At the same time, students of class 1 participated in free-hand colouring activities, during which they used their creativity to express their love for the earth. The students were given different outlines of nature and asked to fill them with colours of their choice. The activity helped the students explore their artistic side while learning about the importance of preserving nature.

Meanwhile, students of class 2 made posters on the theme ‘Environmental Protection.’ They used their creative skills to design posters with the message of preserving the environment. The posters were colourful, impactful, and emphasised the need to conserve natural resources, reduce pollution, and protect wildlife.

Similarly, class 3 students were given the task of creating banners. They created beautiful banners with impactful messages on raising awareness about the importance of preserving the planet’s natural resources. Later, those banners were hung in prominent places around the school.

Mr. Rudrendra Basak, Principal of Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, applauded the efforts of all the students and encouraged them to continue taking care of the planet. He emphasised that it is the responsibility of every individual to conserve natural resources, reduce pollution, and protect wildlife.

He stated, “We at Apeejay encouraged students to protect our Mother Earth in every way possible through the Earth Day celebration. I hope our children understand the importance of the small steps that are important to take in making a big difference for the future i.e., the future of everyone in common, creating a clean Mother Earth.”

Further, the corridors of the school were filled with slogans raised by students during the green walk, which aimed to sensitise others about the importance of environmental protection. The green walk was an excellent initiative to encourage students to appreciate the environment and work towards its preservation.

The activities also created awareness among students about the need to reduce carbon footprint and promote sustainable practices. Students were educated about the 3R’s – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle – and how these practices can help in the conservation of natural resources. The day proved to be an eye-opener for everyone, and the program helped students understand the importance of the environment.

The event was a great success, and the students’ enthusiasm towards environmental conservation was remarkable. The event highlighted the importance of conserving natural resources, and it was an excellent initiative to encourage young minds to take action towards creating a sustainable future.
