Read edited excerpts here.

How do you feel after winning the district championship?

Undoubtedly it’s an unrealistic achievement for me to win the district-level competition. For me, it’s like a dream come true. All the hard work, discipline and perseverance of me and my gurus- paid off. A huge thanks to all the teachers who have been there with me every time to support me.

How did you prepare for the championship?

I had already prepared this raag and performed it in the zonal level competition earlier. Since the time I learnt this raag till date, my music teacher has been teaching me to increase its effectiveness with some amendments and techniques to make it echo in the ears of judges when I play in front of them.

What did you perform at the championship?

I performed Raag Kirvani, but some advancements and amendments had been made by my sir to enhance the beauty of this raag to make it feel catchy in front of the audience and judges.

How did Apeejay support you in your craft?

Apeejay School provided immense support in my musical journey. I had the privilege of learning from my music teacher, who greatly enriched my knowledge. Additionally, my other teachers also played pivotal roles in shaping my understanding of music during my time at school.

Who is your inspiration?

I draw my inspiration from Tulsidar Bolkar, an exceptional harmonium player.

How has music changed your life personally?

Music has had a profound impact on my life. During tough times, it has served as a therapeutic outlet, helping me navigate challenges. It has also significantly improved my concentration, which has greatly benefited my studies.

What’s your training schedule like?

I began learning the harmonium at the age of four, starting with the keyboard until class V. Later, I was taught music by my gurus. To refine my skills, I practised diligently day and night, with daily riyaaz from 5 pm to 7 pm, which greatly enhanced my musical abilities.
