In a powerful initiative to promote safety, awareness, and confidence among young girls, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, recently organised a dynamic Self-defence Training Session for students of Classes IV–IX and XI. The session was conducted by skilled experts from the Delhi Police Self-defence Wing, whose mission is to equip girls with the knowledge and techniques to protect themselves in real-world situations.
Held on the school premises, the workshop aimed not only at teaching physical defence tactics but also at boosting the girls’ mental preparedness and self-confidence. The instructors began by highlighting the importance of being aware of one’s surroundings, staying alert in public spaces, and using voice as the first tool of defence. Demonstrations included basic martial arts moves, effective escape techniques, and real-life scenarios to help students understand how to react during emergencies.
The training was interactive and highly engaging, encouraging the students to participate enthusiastically. The younger girls learned simple, age-appropriate strategies, while the older students practised more advanced moves with focus and determination. The session also emphasised the importance of mental strength, quick thinking, and remaining calm under pressure.

The atmosphere was electric with energy, empowerment, and enthusiasm. Many students expressed how the workshop made them feel more confident and capable. Teachers and parents praised the initiative, recognising its role in nurturing independence and resilience among young girls.
Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, believes in holistic development, and initiatives like these reflect the school’s commitment to fostering not just academic excellence, but also life skills that matter. With the right training and awareness, every girl can be fearless, confident, and ready to face the world.
