At Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, GK II, the PlaySteps programme is carefully designed to help young children become confident, curious, and joyful learners. We understand that the early years are the most important phase in a child’s development. This is the time when they begin to explore, experiment, and form their understanding of the world. It is also the stage where they start building key life skills — like communication, cooperation, and decision-making.

To support this crucial journey, our curriculum creates a unique and balanced blend of structured, facilitator-led activities and free, child-initiated play. This approach not only supports learning but also helps children become more confident in expressing themselves and making choices.

Structured activities are thoughtfully planned by our experienced early childhood educators. These sessions focus on building early literacy and numeracy, fine and gross motor development, creativity, and social interaction. Activities like storytelling, rhymes, circle time, guided art and craft, and educational games are introduced in a playful yet purposeful manner. Children learn to listen, follow instructions, participate in group tasks, and share their ideas confidently.

Alongside this, child-initiated activities are equally important. These are the moments when children choose what they want to explore — be it building with blocks, painting freely, role-playing in the home corner, or even simply observing nature. In these moments, children lead their learning. They make decisions, test their ideas, and build on their imagination. It gives them a sense of control, which is key to developing self-confidence and independence.

According to Ms Komal Nathani, School Head, Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, GK II, at Rhythms, we embrace each child’s innate curiosity and boundless potential. “Through PlaySteps, we cultivate a dynamic learning environment where wonder meets wisdom, creativity thrives, and lifelong foundations are thoughtfully laid,” she said.

This programme believes in letting children move freely between these two modes of learning. Structured activities give them the tools and skills, while free play gives them the space to apply those skills in their unique ways. This fluidity helps children grow into independent thinkers and confident communicators.

The educators here play the role of gentle facilitators. They observe the child’s interests, support their questions, and guide them only when needed. This creates a safe, non-judgmental environment where each child feels heard, seen, and valued.

At Rhythms GK II, we see every child as capable, curious, and full of potential. Through PlaySteps, we create a nurturing and enriching learning space that supports their holistic development. With the right balance of structure and freedom, we are not just preparing children for school—we are preparing them for life.
