‘Sky’: Poem by Shobhna Aggarwal, ACFA

The horizon hides a scarlet blush

peeking coyly from behind

the floating quiet cotton mush,

a bleak body with a blessed mind.

Dances a thin orange beam,

tracing twilight’s tangy tempo,

her torso melts into branching gleam,

and forms a halo of golden glow.

Defrost in blue, tiny white specks-

of light clouds that join the mirth,

they stand guard to a fiery fleck,

when shines the nearest star to the Earth.

Most bewitching bride the sky is,

every ethereal element she shows,

at the core of her heart is heaven’s bliss,

she’s the rare salvation any man knows.
