‘Shaken but Unshattered’: Poem by Smita Tanwar,  Apeejay School, Noida

Class: 10-A

Leaned against the window was my tired head,

When the soothing wind swept through my sleepy eyes,

In the silence of the bustling city,

Finally, my soul got the chance to chat!

“Look at the little child there,

Amazed by the chaotic crowd,

It reminds me of the younger you,

Who always endeavored to explore something new.

Oh that small girl with an eager mind,

To quench whose curiosity,

She would always go the extra mile,

And each hurdle she would face with a smile!

I know you were devoted and diligent,

But rise and fall is the epistemology of life,

If sunsets can be soothing why your fall is sorrowful,

Yet after fall the sunrise is enchanting

So why can’t your comeback be a reality?

Gather your pieces and be back in the war,

‘Cause that little you had faith in you,

‘Cause there’s somebody believing in you,

‘Cause it was a dream weaved by you!”

Awaken to reality I accepted  life,

Striving to write my own ending,

Because I had the audacity to dream,

Then why not the passion to fulfil it?

Just have faith in your vision,

Accept your tears conquer your fears,

And strike back to every obstacle,

‘Cause you are unbreakable!
