A student of class 9 at Apeejay School, Noida, Sanvi Singh, has keen interest in art and sports. Inspired by her engineer-parents, she too hopes to learn technical skills in the future. Read on, to know more about her. Edited excerpts from the interview.
Please tell us about yourself.
I am a passionate learner. Subjects such as Mathematics, Science and English interest me equally. I recently completed a state-level qualification for Abacus in which I have invested close to 8 years. The same has helped me ace my examinations too. In the previous academic year, I was awarded by the school for scoring high in five subjects. Apart from this, I am fond of painting and sketching. I like to play outdoor games such as football.

What kind of books interest you?
I am keen to read crime-thrillers, horror and mystery-based novels. ‘The Hardy Boys’ series is one of my favourites. The kind of cases and investigations they participate in, is extremely interesting!
What inspired you to write – The mysterious road?
As I planned to write a story, this was the first narrative that crossed my mind. To add to my knowledge, I also listen to some short-story podcasts in my free-time. So, I created the characters and the narrative much similar to what I read or listen to. This is the only second piece of writing by me and the rest of my writing is largely personal.

Your career aspiration?
I wish to become a software engineer and hope to enroll in one of the IITs someday.
A writing tip for your classmates?
Keep at it. Practice will make you perfect one day. Also, try to read more. It could be helpful to maintain a daily journal to record ideas for your stories.
