In a bid to promote values such as respect, patience, harmony and doing the best, Apeejay School, Noida, launched an Awakening Programme in collaboration with Ramakrishna Mission. As part of this programme, multiple sessions were conducted for the students of classes 1 to5.
During the sessions, students were explained the value of ‘Doing the Best’ via various engaging activities in line with the theme. These activities empowered them to understand their infinite potential, to think beyond the box and exhibit their abilities to do their best in every situation.
In this programme, the use of stories aimed at encouraging the children to collaborate with others, think, reflect, respect and thereby aid in their socio-emotional development. This activity inculcated the values of teamwork and sense of generosity among the students. It enabled them to think beyond their limits, to comprehend and react in a particular situation.
The students enjoyed these interactive sessions of explorations, situation analyses, discussions, especially classroom sessions and real-life examples. The idea was to enable them to face challenges fearlessly and express themselves independently. Further, students also learned the importance of decision-making, which plays a crucial role in everyday life.
Ms. Shridevi, English coordinator says, “Doing our best is more important than being best because if we live, think and act our best today then our tomorrow will definitely be excellent. As it is said, today is the preparation of tomorrow.”
