Stage performances for young children hold a unique significance, not just for the little stars but for everyone involved — parents, teachers, and the school community. Through carefully crafted performances, children learn the values of teamwork, creativity, and resilience, and for the same, on September 21, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, hosted a remarkable event that saw nursery students take the stage for the first time. The event, themed Inter-Connected Lives began at 8:30 am in the school auditorium, where parents, teachers, and young learners came together to celebrate this special day.
The occasion was graced by Ms Sujata Sundaresan, Principal of Panchshila Montessori School, and Ms Garima, Head of Crayons Play School, Sheikh Sarai, who were welcomed with a special green welcome. The event began with ceremonial lamp lighting. The event showcased the interconnectedness among water, animals, and community helpers, reflecting the delicate balance of life, each playing a vital role in sustaining our environment and society.
The nursery students dressed as droplets of water, wearing white and blue outfits with droplet-shaped headgear, charmed the audience by praying to the song titled God’s Love; this wasfollowed by the recital of the Gayatri mantra. This introduction beautifully highlighted the values that Apeejay School instils in its students. The little ones then performed a lively dance, emphasising the importance of water, set to the song Yeh Paani.

Mrs Surabhi Joshi, Principal of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, addressed the audience. She extended a warm welcome to all the parents and teachers present. She expressed her sincere gratitude to Ms Sundaresan and Ms Garima for their presence and lauded the dedication of the nursery teachers.
“It’s so difficult to take care of just one kid at home wherein the teachers of our school did wonders with such great work. So kudos to all nursery teachers. Today is the day of the first. First of everything it has a very significant impact on our lives. First child, first step, first school, first day day on the stage. All the teachers have worked super hard for everything. Since it’s the first, some students might get nervous while some may perform well but our work is to keep supporting and motivating them as it’s their first assembly on stage. I wish all the best,” Mrs Joshi said.

Following this, the young students continued their performances by sharing interesting facts about water. The focus then shifted to animals, where the students participated in an animal parade, dressed as various animals such as elephants, giraffes, kangaroos, monkeys, lions, and more. The children proudly spoke about the differences between pet animals, wild animals, and water animals. Their knowledge and enthusiasm shone through, and this segment concluded with an adorable animal dance performance.
The theme of the event was further explored as the children showcased the vital roles played by community helpers in society. Dressed as nurses, teachers, soldiers, firefighters, milkmen, policemen, and pilots, the students gave heartfelt performances, followed by a vibrant dance performance that added to the joy of the day.
Parents were delighted to see their children shine on stage for the first time. Mr Dhruv Bansal, father of Adira Bansal, a Nursery A student, shared, “It was such a nice programme. My daughter came from Rhythms Kinderworld, GK-II to Panchsheel Park, and the journey has been nothing short of fantastic. She was shy before, but today I can see her confidence growing.”
Similarly, Mr Aakash Vashisht, father of Aavyaan Vashisht, expressed his pride, saying, “I am so proud to see my son up there. He has improved so much, and it’s wonderful to see the hard work of the teachers pay off.”

The event was a testament to the determination and efforts of both students and teachers. Mrs Nisha Joshi, a PRT teacher, commented, “It was a great achievement for our students, who have slowly overcome their stage fright. It took time and effort to prepare them, but seeing their performances today made it all worthwhile. We had 100% participation from the entire Nursery, and parents appreciated everything from the performances to the décor and costumes.”
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Rachna Jain, Pre-Primary Coordinator. She expressed her gratitude to the Principal, Vice-principal, playschool heads, parents, and staff for their unwavering support and contribution to the day’s success. She praised the students, calling them the true stars of the show, whose enthusiasm and energy brought warmth to everyone’s hearts. She ended by saying, “This was just the beginning, our young performers have miles to go!”
The day was not just a milestone for the students but a memorable celebration of firsts for the entire Apeejay School community. Such events are not merely performances, they are milestones, celebrating growth, learning, and interconnectedness.
