He is, at present, working with a food service provider and a London-based MNC. After my schooling at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, he pursued a B Tech and has been working in sales for the past 11 years. At present, he handles pan-India sales for the company. Meet Karanveer Singh Sehgal (batch 2008), whose daughter, Tapsee, is also at this school and all set to go to Class II.
In a candid interview, this alumnus-parent talks about why he chose this school for his daughter, among other things.
How has your journey been as an alumnus of the school?
My journey has been good. I still see the same staff and teachers who were there when I was a student. It feels reassuring to see that the same values of good learning, education, and overall well-being are still being taught, just like during my time.
What drew you back to your school?

The main reasons were the infrastructure, the environment, and the teachers. The staff has always been supportive, and the school is also easily accessible for us since we live close by. That made the decision even easier.
Is there any memory that still feels vivid to you?
Yes, one strong memory is from my daughter’s annual function. Being in the same auditorium brought back so many memories of my own school days. It still has the same look and feel. I also remember Dr Stya Paul from my time. He used to walk around the school, interact with students, and even be present during activities like basketball. Those direct interactions have stayed with me over the years.
Are there any lessons or values from school that still shape how you think today?
The biggest takeaway for me has been the sense of responsibility and the upbringing we received. We were encouraged to take decisions on our own. That independence and confidence have stayed with me and continue to guide me even today.
What made you feel that the school would give your daughter the same sense of belonging?
The environment remains the same, along with the teaching approach and the support from the management. There is a strong sense of care, and I can see that it has only improved with time to match changing trends. That gave me confidence that my daughter would feel the same sense of belonging.
What has changed in the school and what has remained the same?
The infrastructure has evolved with changing times, which is a positive shift. However, the core aspects like the staff, teaching values, and environment have remained the same.
What would you want your daughter to carry forward from her time at the school?
I would want her to carry forward a strong sense of belonging, pride in being part of the institution, and most importantly, independence. Those are values that truly stay with you.
