My experience on my creative holiday homework

The moment the Punjab government announced early summer vacations this year, I quickly made up my mind to go to Amritsar to stay with my maternal grandparents. I love going there as it is the only place where Iam not asked to get up early and go for a bath by my mother. The most relaxing place for anyone I Guess is their”Nani house”.My maternal grandparents house is in Green Avenue,Amritsar close to Golden Sarovar Portico hotel.when I reached there I saw that on the opposite side of the road, there was garbage thrown in abundance.

It was very disappointing as Green Avenue is one of the posh areas of the city.It was awful to see this as there was a dental and orthopedic hospital nearby and nobody was bothered to get rid of it.Thinking that I am just a child to do anything about it,I just ignored the situation.About a day later my mother discussed all the holiday homework that had been sent by my class teacher. The creative social science holiday homework given by Mrs.Maninder Mam just lit up the idea bulb in my mind for being a responsible citizen of the country whether being a resident of Amritsar or not.
I discussed the garbage situation with my grandfather and seeing my enthusiasm he called up the municipality corporation office and requested them to clear the garbage from our area. So the next day the sweepers came with their truck to pick up the garbage and clean the road. Not only this we asked them to visit regularly and pick up garbage if seen in this area.I was so happy to see them cleaning the road side.A different kind of feeling of doing something good made me more happy.
I quickly made a poster on keeping the city clean and green and stood there for people to see who were passing by.A lot of people showed thumbs up to me for the message I gave. Through this project I have learnt that keeping the environment clean is every individual’s responsibility and duty,be an adult or a kid of seventh grade like me.We can make our surroundings a better place to live in only if we take an initiative to improve it.
No one can do it except all of us.Doing good today will give us a better tomorrow.I will never forget that exceptional feeling which I felt on getting this task done.I thanked my grandfather for helping me doing this.Iam very grateful to my class teacher Mrs.Maninder Mam who herself is a very charismatic and proactive person for giving us such creative holiday homework and helping us to be a responsible citizen.
