My Experience at Luv Kush Ramleela: A Festival of Learning, Culture, and Memories

Being a part of the Luv Kush Ramleela at the historic Red Fort was an experience that I will cherish for a lifetime. It wasn’t just an event; it was a celebration of culture, devotion, and community spirit, and being involved in it from the ground up gave me a whole new perspective on how large-scale cultural events come to life.

I still remember the very first day the sight of workers setting up stalls, technicians adjusting the lights, and the stage slowly taking shape under the open sky. There was a certain magic in watching the grandeur of the Ramleela unfold piece by piece, transforming an empty ground into a space brimming with colour, energy, and anticipation. It was surreal to witness how countless hours of planning, coordination, and creativity could bring such a magnificent production to life.
Each day brought something new to learn. My role extended beyond observation. I was involved in logistical planning, backstage coordination, and handling on-ground issues that arose suddenly and demanded quick thinking. From ensuring performers were ready on time to managing crowd movement and technical glitches, every task tested my patience, adaptability, and communication skills. It was a lesson in professionalism, problem-solving, and teamwork skills that can’t be learned from a classroom alone.
What made the experience even more enriching was the opportunity to work closely with renowned artists and performers who brought the epic tale of Ramayana to life on stage. Interacting with them off-screen revealed a completely different side behind the larger-than-life personas were individuals who were humble, grounded, and deeply passionate about their craft. Their stories, discipline, and dedication were truly inspiring and left a lasting impression on me.
Beyond the professional experience, the Luv Kush Ramleela also deepened my connection to Indian culture and tradition. Watching audiences of all ages come together children wide-eyed with wonder, elders moved by nostalgia reminded me how storytelling continues to unite people across generations. The chants, music, and performances carried an energy that was both spiritual and theatrical, blending faith with artistry.
Being part of one of Delhi NCR’s largest cultural events gave me more than just practical exposure; it offered a sense of belonging to something bigger than myself. It taught me that every grand event is built on collaboration, discipline, and the shared passion of hundreds of unseen hands working behind the scenes.
Looking back, the Luv Kush Ramleela was not just a festival it was a journey of learning, humility, and joy. It showed me how communication, coordination, and creativity come together to create impact. Most of all, it reaffirmed my belief that true learning often happens in the real world in the spaces where culture, community, and human connection converge.
