The celebration of Moon Day can significantly enrich the school’s curriculum. The celebrations often involve collaborative projects and creative activities, such as building model rockets or creating artwork inspired by space. These activities promote teamwork, problem-solving, and creative thinking, essential skills that students will benefit from in all areas of their education and future careers.
To inculcate great creativity skills amongst the students, Apeejay School, Tanda Road organised a Moon Day celebration activity for the students of the Pre-primary wing. The event was marked by a variety of engaging arts and crafts activities tailored to enhance both learning and motor skills.
The Pre-nursery students embarked on a creative journey by crafting moon pictures using colourful craft paper cutouts, showcasing their artistic flair. Nursery students participated by coloring detailed images of the moon, which helped them develop their fine motor skills.

On the other hand, the LKG students had a hands-on experience exploring the different phases of the moon using biscuits, adding a tasty twist to their learning. Meanwhile, the UKG students took on a more advanced project by constructing moon models using plaster of Paris on cardboard, meticulously illustrating the phases of the moon from crescent to full moon.
Teachers of the school were involved in utmost enthusiasm which enriched the experience by explaining that the moon is the second natural source of light, providing the students with a deeper understanding of this celestial body.
Overall, such celebrations are more than just an educational event. They serve as a gateway to inspiring curiosity, enhancing scientific understanding, and fostering a love for learning. By integrating such celebrations into the school curriculum, educators can create memorable experiences that shape students’ educational journeys and future aspirations.
