Like shadow follows your each step

 At turns it looms behind

Staunchly devout in blazing heat

Till it hides in plain sight

Trauma haunts you in such places

Clings to your sleep and mind

When life flames, it crawls in traces

Evokes the scarring fights

It silently whispers stories

You thought you had left behind

And read grisly tales before these

Bring out your puerile plight

And while in shade it quietly fades

Briefly you see the light

But lingering close by it waits

Sneering at your veiled fight
