‘Let the spirit of Republic Day inspire us to build a brighter future for our nation’

The NCC (National Cadet Corps) wing of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC) in Jalandhar celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm.

The event began with the NCC cadets escorting Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of AIMETC, for the national flag unfurling ceremony. Dr. Rajesh Bagga in his address highlighted the theme of the 76th Republic Day “Swarnim Bharat – Virasat aur Vikas” (Golden India – Heritage and Development).

Further, he stated that this theme reflects India’s rich cultural heritage and its ongoing journey of progress. He also added that “as citizens of this nation, we should take pride in the fact that we are a sovereign republic, and have our own Constitution, and laws to govern us”.

Dr. Bagga conveyed his best wishes to the staff and students and said that as true nationalists we should work for the development of the country. He further emphasised, “Let the spirit of Republic Day inspire us to build a brighter future for our nation. As students, you are the torch bearers of tomorrow, and your education here equips you with the tools to contribute meaningfully to society.”

Students from all the courses participated with full enthusiasm in the event. They recited poems and speeches related to freedom fighters, eminent Indian leaders and milestones achieved by Indians globally. A quiz to test the students’ awareness about the Indian constitution was also conducted.

The event was designed to acquaint the students with different facets of India becoming a republic and celebrate the endeavors put in by the makers of the constitution. The students showcased remarkable knowledge about India, Indian constitution, and republic day celebrations. The objective of the event was to invoke a vision of strong nation-building among the students, on the glorious occasion of Republic Day.

The event was conducted by the NCC Wing and faculty coordinators were Mr. Rohit Verma, Assistant Professor at the School of InformationTechnology, and Mr. Vikas Kumar, Assistant Professor at the School of Engineering in AIMETC.

Dr. Rajesh Bagga appreciated the students for their patriotism for the country. He lauded the commendable performances of students including Meghdeep Kaur, Sukhnandan from MCA programme, Bidesh from MBA programme and Somya of B COM (H) along with all  the cadets.
