Learning from a soul who made the world a happier place!

Certain names stand for certain terms. Some clear examples would include William Shakespeare denoting excellence in literature, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel standing for national integration and similarly the name Smt Rajeshwari Paul, the First Lady of the Apeejay Stya Group, embodying the virtues compassion, kindness and vision for fine arts.

Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri has always followed the venerable soul’s vision towards character building and on the occasion of her 11th Punyatithi, the school organised a small ceremony to pay a soulful tribute.

A special assembly was organised by the students of classes 9 and 10 during which all the students learnt about the rich contribution of Mrs Rajeshwari Paul, the beloved wife of late Founder-Chairman Dr Stya Paul and mother of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson, Apeejay Education Society and Chancellor Apeejay Stya University, who is carrying forward this rich legacy.

The assembly commenced with the daily prayers, which was followed by a floral tribute. Principal, Mr Rudrendra Basak, was joined by staff and students alike in remembering and paying homage to the divine soul. As a mark of remembrance towards the venerable soul, students chanted shlokas from the Bhagavad Gita and recited poems. An informative speech about the First Lady’s life and works was delivered. Students were left inspired after hearing about Mrs Rajeshwari Paul’s artistic bent of mind, kindheartedness and compassion.

Mr Rudrendra Basak urged students and staff to reflect on Smt. Rajeshwari Paul’s life and to take inspiration from her. He said, “Students! You all must realise that life becomes stagnant if we stop learning from one another. Today, you all learned about the multifaceted genius Smt Rajeshwari Paul was. She is a symbol of kindness and peace and was also a lifelong supporter of art and creativity.”

He further added, “You all must learn from her life that creativity lies within you, and it is at all times ever present around you. All you have to do is to free your mind and tap into that latent potential inside. Art has always taught us that we can use the creative streak within to create a happier, kinder and a more empathetic world around us. Smt Rajeshwari Paul practiced this throughout her life and was a successful ambassador of this process. Her efforts to promote fine arts still stand tall. She is a true hero and will always be remembered by each one of us. Let us pay homage to the great soul and embody the virtues she advocated throughout, as we shape ourselves to live a happy and healthy life.”
