There are so many definitions of leadership. All equally potent and well written but the one that sums it all up would be: ‘A leader is the one who puts others ahead of his/her self’. To inculcate this feeling of leadership among all students, Apeejay School, Faridabad recently organized the annual investiture ceremony within the school premises.
Mr. Amit Mann, HCS-City Magistrate, Faridabad presided over as the chief guest for the occasion. The ceremony commenced with lighting of the lamp, followed by the ornamentation of the student council members with the prized sashes and badges. The outgoing head boy and head girl along with the house captains of the former council handed over the flag of the school to the incoming council members. The outgoing Head Boy, Harsh Malhotra also shared his experiences as office bearer for the previous session.
Principal, Mrs. Anita Yadav congratulated the newly appointed council members in her address. She also appreciated the students for their perseverance and hard work and motivated them to perform their duties sincerely.
Chief Guest, Mr. Amit Mann, reiterated the importance of responsibility in his address as he advised the office bearers to undertake the duties as a part of their designation. He shared some key life lessons with the young leaders that guided them to become worthy role models for their peers.
This was followed by the oath taking ceremony wherein the newly elected council members pledged to abide by the rules and regulations of the school and conduct their duties to the best of their abilities. A sense of pride was felt by the parents of the young leaders as they attended the program in the audience and witnessed their children mature into potential leaders of tomorrow.
Delighted after being elected to the council, Niyati Bali, the new school captain said, “I will at all times make sure that my team and I put in honest effort to enhance our school and uphold the faith that has been entrusted to us. I will work with utmost sincerity.”

Another school captain, Yashika Khurana added, “It is indeed a pleasure for me to carry out the assigned responsibilities in a sincere, systemic and dedicated manner. For me, being the school captain is not just about a position or a title but it is about doing progressive actions and being an example which can make a difference.”
The event concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by the outgoing Head Girl, Suhana Gandhi.
