Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park observed Kargil Vijay Diwas with solemnity and pride through a special assembly organised by the Interact Club and the students of Class XI B. The event served as a poignant reminder of the valiant soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation during the 1999 Kargil War.
The assembly began with a respectful moment of silence, allowing the school community to honour the memory of the fallen heroes collectively. This was followed by the school prayer, setting the tone for a morning of gratitude and reflection. The “Thought of the Day” and “Word of the Day” were carefully chosen to instill values of courage, resilience, and patriotism in the young minds present.

A Tapestry of Talent and Tribute
The programme beautifully showcased the students’ deep admiration for the armed forces through a series of well-curated performances. A graceful classical dance mesmerised the audience, symbolising the spiritual and cultural strength of India. This was followed by a moving poem that celebrated the unwavering courage and love for the nation displayed by the Kargil heroes.
A thought-provoking play brought the real struggles of soldiers to life, portraying the physical and emotional challenges they endured. The heartfelt acting left a deep impact on the audience, especially the students, who were visibly moved by the performance.
To uplift the patriotic spirit, students also presented a group song that echoed the nation’s pride. The programme concluded with a vibrant contemporary dance set to the iconic song “Jai Ho,” igniting the assembly with energy and unity.

More than a tribute, the event was an opportunity for students to engage with India’s military history in a meaningful way. It helped them understand the significance of service and sacrifice while also encouraging them to reflect on how they can embody similar values in their everyday lives.
Through active participation, students honed their creative, oratory, and performance skills while building a stronger connection to their country’s legacy. The collaborative effort also promoted teamwork, empathy, and emotional intelligence, all vital traits for holistic development.
