Mathematics is often seen as a subject of rules and calculations, but at Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, it is introduced as a world of fun, curiosity, and discovery. The junior kindergarten learners recently participated in two lively activities, Numbers Hop and Numbers Tambola, that transformed early numeracy into an exciting adventure.
Jumping into learning
The Numbers Hop activity turned a simple corridor into a cheerful playground of learning. Children hopped across number blocks, identifying digits and counting in sequence. With each jump, they not only practised number recognition but also enhanced their physical coordination. The activity encouraged quick thinking, problem-solving, and confidence-building as students worked their way through the sequence with joy.
Playing with patterns
Equally engaging was Numbers Tambola, a playful twist on the traditional game. Children enthusiastically matched numbers, discovered patterns, and sharpened their focus. The activity nurtured teamwork, instilled the value of healthy competition, and helped learners stay attentive while having fun. It was delightful to watch young minds enjoy mathematics in a social and interactive way.
At Apeejay School, every classroom and corridor becomes a space for exploration. Activities like these go beyond textbooks, ensuring that children develop strong foundations in numeracy while enjoying the process. Such joyful learning experiences make concepts easier to grasp and create positive associations with mathematics from an early age.
By blending play with learning, the school nurtures confidence, creativity, and curiosity in its students. The young learners of junior kindergarten left the activities with smiles on their faces and a stronger grasp of numbers – proving once again that when Math meets fun, learning becomes unforgettable!
