The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is one of the most prestigious and competitive engineering entrance exams in India, serving as a gateway to premier institutions like the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other top engineering colleges. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam evaluates candidates on subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, testing not just their conceptual understanding but also analytical and problem-solving abilities.
For aspirants, JEE Main is not just a test of knowledge—it is a test of determination, dedication, and the ability to perform under pressure, shaping the foundation for a promising engineering career. Taking this crucial point ahead, these two students from Apeejay School, Kharghar, are aiming to carve their own niche as engineers. Meet Shubhkarmun Singh and Bhakti Garg, who have scored 99.16% and 96% respectively in their JEE Main exam 2026.
Speaking about his preparation strategy Shubhkarmun said, “I believe JEE rewards consistency over the 2 years more than anything else. Throughout my preparation, I tried to give ample time to each subject and chapter. I used to solve modules and PYQ’s for the most part. I also used some reference books for further studies like Black book for Math.”
Juggling between Class XII exam pressure and JEE was no mean feat, but Shubhkarmun credits his school for unwavering support. “I think, Apeejay School, Kharghar, helped me a lot in my board preparation. My teachers were excellent and used to explain the “tricky” concepts I didn’t understand. Before my school exams, I used to dedicate my entire week towards boards preparation. During the normal time, I chose to incline my prep more towards JEE. Also, I would read the NCERT books. ”
Lastly, he mentioned that he will again attempt the JEE exam. “Yes, definitely. I think the April attempt is an excellent opportunity for me to prepare for my future exams and get a sense of where I stand among my peers. Also, I want to improve my score further.”
