The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main 2026 City Intimation Slip for Session 1 on January 8. Candidates appearing for the January session can now check and download their city intimation slips from the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. This development marks an important step in the examination process, helping aspirants prepare logistically for the upcoming test.

The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 exam for Paper 1 (BE/BTech) and Paper 2-A and 2-B (BArch and BPlanning) is scheduled to begin on January 21, 2026, and will continue until January 29, 2026. The city intimation slip provides candidates with advanced information about the city where their exam centre will be located. This enables students to plan their travel, accommodation, and other arrangements in advance, especially those who may need to travel to a different city.

It is important to note that the city intimation slip is not the admit card. It only specifies the exam city and does not contain details such as the exact exam centre address, reporting time, or exam-day instructions. The JEE Main 2026 admit cards are expected to be released three to four days before the commencement of the exam, around mid-January.

During the application process, candidates were given the option to select up to four preferred exam cities, based on their present and permanent addresses. NTA has reiterated that it makes every possible effort to allocate exam cities according to these preferences. However, in certain cases, due to administrative or logistical reasons, candidates may be assigned a city other than their chosen options.

The results for the JEE Main 2026 January session are scheduled to be announced on February 12, 2026. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official website for updates related to admit cards, exam schedules, and result declarations, and to carefully check all details mentioned on their documents once released.
