On November 14, 2024, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, came alive with joy and enthusiasm as the school celebrated Children’s Day with a special assembly. Organised by the talented students of Vivekananda House, the event revolved around the theme, Celebrating Childhood – Dream Your Dreams, Know Your Rights.
This meaningful theme underlined the importance of nurturing aspirations while creating awareness about the fundamental rights of children.
According to Ms Brini Datt Gulati, PGT Psychology cum Counsellor, every great achievement begins with a dream, but dreams flourish only when rooted in safety and respect. “As children, knowing your rights is knowing about your power — it enables you to grow with confidence, express yourself freely, and pursue your aspirations fearlessly. The theme Dream Your Dreams and Know Your Rights is a call for action, reminding every child that they deserve both the freedom to dream and the protection to thrive. Together, let’s build a future where dreams know no limits,” the educator said,

Dreams and rights take centrestage
The programme began with an inspiring talk that emphasised the beauty of cherishing childhood and the power of dreams. Students eloquently spoke about how every child has the right to dream and the need to pursue those dreams fearlessly.
The highlight of the event was an engaging play on child rights awareness. Through captivating performances, the students conveyed the significance of ensuring a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment for every child to thrive. The play left a lasting impact on the audience, serving as a gentle reminder of the responsibilities adults hold toward children.
Adding to the excitement was a series of vibrant dance and musical performances. These artistic expressions captured the spirit of the day, celebrating the joy, innocence, and boundless potential of childhood. The colourful and energetic performances by the students brought cheer to the audience, making the event even more memorable.
A thought by Swami Vivekanand, shared during the assembly, echoed the day’s message: The power of expression in spreading compassion and empathy can inspire everyone to make a positive impact. This profound message resonated with the students and staff alike.

A call to dream big
The celebration concluded with a heartfelt address by the Principal, Ms Surabhi Joshi, who extended her warm wishes on this special occasion.
