‘I explored various schools but this one proved to be an excellent choice’

While you are looking for the right school environment for your child, always consider enrolling them in a diverse learning environment. This type of environment shall encourage open-mindedness, the ability to communicate more effectively, and an empathetic aspect for people hailing from different backgrounds, opines Ranjit Kumar, father of Maginthan Ranjit Kumar studying in senior KG at Apeejay School, Svran Global, Faridabad, Sector 21-D

“When I got transferred from the South to Faridabad, I wanted a school that followed a diversification and inclusion policy. I found this at this Apeejay branch,” says Kumar.

Excerpts from the interview

How was the admission process?

The experience was incredibly seamless. I explored various schools nearby but this particular school stood as an excellent choice. Since we were still in Tamil Nadu, I couldn’t take my son to Delhi for a physical visit at the time of admission. However, the school facilitated online interactions with my son, simplifying the entire process.

What made you choose this particular school?

We relied on word-of-mouth recommendations to choose this particular school. The atmosphere was notably friendly and welcoming. Moreover, my son loves attending it every day.

How has been your child’s experience at this school so far?

Maginthan just loves attending school. Recently, I could also see a lot of improvement in his behaviour and academic result as compared to his previous school. Since we are from the South, we are not very fluent in Hindi. Although he is still learning different languages, it’s great to see him mingling with his friends.

Since the child barely understands the Hindi language, is he facing any problems communicating at school?

Typically, we converse in Tamil at home, but now we’ve made a concerted effort to expose our son to a diverse language environment. He is engaging in a blended learning environment at school, that includes Tamil, Hindi, and English.

What about extracurricular activities?

He has a knack for arts and crafts and indulges in various painting classes or dance at times.

Do you think the school goes well by the concept of secularism?

Definitely. The Student Body comprises individuals from various corners of the country, and the school embraces and respects this diversity.

How do you spend quality time with him?

Upon returning from school, Maginthan and I usually sit together and he consistently shares his daily experiences discussing everything — from friends and playtime to homework. On the weekends, we often go out exploring various places like markets and parks to name a few.

How do you motivate him to study at home?

Since my son is very young, we often help him revise whatever has been taught at the school. Mostly his mother helps him with his studies while on the weekends, I help him revise his lessons.
