Apeejay School, Saket takes pride in nurturing bright young minds who are not only academically sound but also focused, self-aware, and determined. This year, two Commerce stream students, Aakanksha Chatterjee and Samaira Dang, have emerged as the shining stars of their class, each with a unique story of perseverance and positivity. In this conversation, they reflected on their journeys, study strategies, and plans ahead.

Aakanksha Chatterjee:

Scoring an impressive 84.2% in Class 11, Aakanksha Chatterjee is now gearing up for her Class 12 board exams.

Samaira Dang:

Scoring 78% in Class 11, Samaira Dang is another determined student who has taken her Commerce journey in stride. Currently in Class 12, she has opted for Commerce with Mathematics, defying the conventional path often suggested by her family. “I initially wanted to become a pilot,” she reveals. “But when I faced resistance from my family, I made a conscious decision to choose Commerce with Maths because I believe there’s great potential in this stream too.”

Samaira doesn’t have a fixed career path in mind yet, but she’s not worried. “I believe if I give my best now, many doors will open for me later. So I’m focused on doing well in the present.” She candidly shares that the beginning of Class 12 was overwhelming, but with structured timetables and teacher support, she got back on track.

Her favourite subjects? Accountancy and Mathematics. “I understand them well and genuinely enjoy solving problems,” she says. Though not actively involved in school extracurriculars, Samaira de-stresses by listening to music, drawing, or talking with friends and family. “It’s my way of escaping positively. It helps me reset and get back to studying with a fresh mind.”

Her biggest learning this year? “To be perfect, you have to seek perfection,” she says thoughtfully. “Set your priorities and stay consistent. Distractions will come, but stay focused.” And her advice for juniors? “Enjoy life, yes. But don’t lose focus. Your discipline today shapes your future.”
