Honouring the lady who celebrated various artforms throughout her life
Apeejay Schools across the country remember Smt Rajeshwari Paul on her 99th birth anniversary!
It was a very special day at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri as the school recently celebrated the 99th birth anniversary of Smt. Rajeshwari Paul ji, the First Lady of the Apeejay Stya Group. The celebrations took place through a special assembly conducted as a humble tribute to the motherly figure.
Heartfelt floral tributes and prayers were offered to the great soul in a commemorative ceremony. Bhajans treasured by the first lady were sung followed by enthralling performances by students while playing the harmonium and tabla. The performances mesmerised the audience comprising students and teachers alike.
Mr. Rudrendra Basak, Principal of the school, read out a heartfelt message from Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson, Apeejay Education Society, wherein she highlighted the inexplicable role of the first lady in shaping her personality. The letter informed students that Smt. Rajeshwari Paul ji was a postgraduate in English and had multifarious talents with swimming, music and Kathak dance being some of them. Smt Rajeshwari Paul celebrated various forms of art throughout her lifetime. She advocated for art and introduced it into the curriculum at Apeejay College of Fine Arts in Jalandhar.

Similarly, Apeejay School, Kharghar in Navi Mumbai also joined in the birth anniversary celebrations by organising a captivating cultural programme to pay tribute to the venerable soul.
The function began with a devotional prayer sung by the school choir, followed by a solemn floral tribute to the first lady and lighting of the diyas. Principal, Mrs. Tejaswini Katdare, delivered the Chairperson’s message to the students and also apprised them about the first lady’s rich contribution not only to the group but also towards humanity at large.

The programme further showcased a mesmerising dance performance by the students of the school. It was based on the inspirational poems mentioned in the book ‘Reflection of Thought’ written by the Founder Chairman of Apeejay Education and Apeejay Stya Group Dr Stya Paul.
As part of the celebration, a plethora of contemporary dances were also presented. The choir group rendered classical songs on Raag Bhoopali which were set to the rhythmic beats of teen-taal. An extraordinary art exhibition was also curated by the school students to honour the visionary who always supported art and artists.
