Honouring Smt Rajeshwari Paul’s 100th birth anniversary in a splendid ceremony

Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar, celebrated the 100th birth anniversary of Shrimati Rajeshwari Paul, the ‘first lady’ of Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, the noble consort of Dr Stya Paul, late Founder-Chairman, Apeejay Stya Group & Apeejay Education and the illustrious mother of  Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Education, and Chancellor Apeejay Stya University with great zeal and enthusiasm.

The cultural extravaganza commenced with an auspicious lamp-lighting ceremony and a floral tribute. This was followed by a soulful rendition of bhajans by music teacher Ms Nidhi Sharma and the school choir. Harvisha of class IX performed a classical invocation dance, Ganesh Vandana, while the girls of class VIII captivated the audience with their dance, short play, and singing performances. Namta Sehgal of class IX delivered a thought-provoking Hindi poem on women empowerment, and Sahibjot Singh of class VIII presented the melodious song ‘O ri chiraiya,’ garnering much appreciation.

The event also featured an energetic bhangra performance by the girls, which stole the show and was thoroughly enjoyed by the students. The main attraction of the day was the art exhibition, where students’ artefacts were displayed, showcasing their creativity, imagination, and artistic expression, leaving everyone spellbound.

Mr AK Sharma, Principal, Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, read a special message from Mrs Berlia, highlighting the life and contributions of Smt Rajeshwari Paul on this special occasion. In his address, he emphasised the importance of various art forms in contemporary life and encouraged students to learn something new every day without fearing failure or mistakes.

The Vice-principal Mrs Aarti Shorey Bhat proposed the vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of every member of team Apeejay School, Rama Mandi for putting up a wonderful show. The Rajeshwari Kala Utsav was a vibrant celebration of art and culture, paying a heartfelt tribute to a remarkable woman.
