
Shubham Kumar Sinha, a final-year graphic design student at Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram, shares how his time at the university has shaped his skills, creativity, and future ambitions. Read edited excerpts:
How has your time at ASU been?
It’s been very good! I’ve learned many new skills and explored my interests in photography and cinematography. ASU provided the platform I needed to expand my knowledge and creativity.
What sparked your interest in graphic design?
I’ve been involved in digital marketing for about five years. That exposure naturally led me to graphic design, and my interest grew from there. It helped me understand the importance of visual communication in marketing.
How have your teachers at ASU influenced your journey?
My teachers have been amazing, especially in core courses. They helped me develop both my business mindset and technical skills as a designer.
How would you describe your progress as a graphic design student?
I’ve learned a lot about technical aspects like alignment, spacing, and presentation techniques. These details have refined my approach to design.
What’s your experience with campus life?
I enjoy hanging out in the canteen with friends, and our classes are always filled with great discussions. I’ve also participated in photography events, which allowed me to further explore my creativity.
So, what are your future ambitions?
I’m focused on building my own graphic design business and brand. I want to leverage the skills I’ve gained to create something unique and impactful.
