On June 21, 2025, the serene morning air at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, was filled with calm and positivity as the school community gathered to celebrate International Yoga Day. The event unfolded with energy, unity, and a deep commitment to health and well-being, staying true to the spirit of the day.
The day commenced with a warm welcome and a thoughtful introduction to the essence of Yoga. Quoting The Bhagavad Gita, “Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self,” the opening remarks reminded everyone of the transformative power of this ancient practice. The event was not merely a physical routine but a meaningful experience in mindfulness and discipline.


A trained yoga instructor led the session, guiding students, parents, and teachers through a well-structured sequence of asanas, pranayama, and breathing exercises. From the energising Surya Namaskar to the grounding postures of Tadasana, Vrikshasana, and Bhujangasana, the group moved in harmony, creating an atmosphere of focus and peace.
Families that stretch together, grow together
The large turnout added to the sense of community. Mats spread across the school reflected the school’s vibrant involvement in holistic development.
What made the event more impactful was the active participation of parents. Performing yoga alongside their children, many parents described it as a rare and refreshing bonding experience. Teachers, too, took part with equal enthusiasm, further strengthening the school’s culture of shared growth and wellness.


A message from the Principal
Addressing the gathering, Dr Vineet Vasishtha, Principal of Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, praised the enthusiastic involvement of students, parents, and staff. He spoke about the significance of adopting yoga as a daily habit and its benefits for mental clarity, stress relief, and immunity building.
