The Men’s ICC World Cup 2023 (ODI) that kick-started on October 5, 2023, began with a surprise with the defending champions England losing to New Zealand in their opening match. However, there were no surprises when India beat Australia in its opening match by 6 wickets and 52 balls to spare. What will be interesting to see is the match on October 14 in Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium when the Rohit Sharma-led squad will take on Pakistan, their bitter rivals.

It appears that the stars favour India as India and Pakistan have faced each other seven times in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup and all the games have been won by India. The only time Pakistan beat India was at the T20 World Cup in 2021 when Pakistan chased the target of 151 runs set by India without losing a wicket.
