Students of Apeejay School, Nerul, recently participated in the Fit India Campaign, an initiative led by schools to promote the importance of fitness amongst the Indian youth. The flagship programme was organised to inculcate fitness habits and increase awareness on fitness and sports among students.
The dignitaries for this campaign were Mr. Rakesh Joshi, Mrs. Shakuntala Singh, Academic Coordinator, Mrs. K.C.Vijaylakshmi, Primary Co-ordinator, and Mrs. Mrinalini Singh, Pre- primary Coordinator who eagerly attended all the programmes and even took part in some of them.

Under the valuable guidance of Mr. Rakesh Joshi, Regional Director (Academics), and with the support of sports teachers, students from classes 5 to 9 enthusiastically participated in the activities.
The campaign was held for four days including educational and fun-filled activities for the young minds. The Yoga Session was attended by the students on the Day 1 of the programme. Gymnastics & Football Exhibition, Throwball Match (Boys vs Girls) and FIFA Quiz were held on Day 2, 3 and 4, respectively.
The campaign was a great addition to the sports and physical fitness highlights. Students and teachers attended it with more zeal and enthusiasm.
Mr Rakesh Joshi, Principal at Apeejay School, Nerul expressed, “Fitness not only facilitates our workability but also helps out to make our lives happy. In today’s competitive world, fitness is essential for dynamic and creative intellectual activity. Through Yoga and other sports activities held during the ‘Fit India Campaign’, the school ensured that our students learn the secret of great well-being and build their physical stamina.”
