How excited are you to start this professional journey?

I’m incredibly excited to embark on this instructional design journey. The opportunity to create engaging and effective learning experiences that drive real business impact is truly inspiring.

Did you always aspire to work in this sector?

My interest in instructional design has evolved over time. Initially, I was drawn to graphic design only. However, as I gained experience, I realised the impact that well-designed learning experiences can have on individuals and organisations. This ignited my passion for instructional design.

How did you prepare for this placement interview? What are the key things to keep in mind while preparing for a job interview in a design company?

To prepare for this placement interview, I focused on a few key areas. I researched the company’s mission and values to understand their design philosophy and how my skills align with their goals. This helped me tailor my responses and show my enthusiasm for their work. I prepared a portfolio showcasing my design process and the outcome. When preparing for a job interview in a design company, it’s important to emphasise a strong understanding of the design thinking process and its application.

How did the faculty help you to prepare for the placement process?

Faculty support was really helpful in my placement preparation. They provided invaluable guidance on my resume as well as conducted mock interviews to enhance my interview skills. Also, their industry insights and career counseling were helpful in aligning my skills with industry requirements.

What skills do you think are important to crack a placement?

I think strong technical knowledge, good communication and problem-solving skills are key for landing a job. Being a team player and quick learner is also important.

Where do you see yourself in the coming few years?

In the next few years, I see myself as a skilled instructional designer contributing to impactful learning experiences. I aim to expand my skills and apply them to create engaging and effective training solutions. I’m eager to collaborate with diverse teams.
