Yoga helps in relaxing and rejuvenating the body and mind of an individual. Keeping this key factor in mind and highlighting the importance of yoga for both physical endurance and mental wellbeing, Apeejay School of Management (ASM) organised a yoga session on the occasion of International Yoga Day in the campus.
The yoga session began with warming up and stretching, followed by practicing a series of yoga poses like Padmasana (Lotus position), Sukhasan (The easy pose), Tadasana (Mountain Pose), Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) and finally, Shavasana (Corpse Pose). The exercises were done to relieve stress, reduce joint pain and enhance the flexibility of the back of the attendees.
On this occasion, Dr. (Prof.) Alka Munjal, Director of ASM, motivated the staff and conveyed, “It’s beneficial to make yoga an integral part of our daily life. Yoga helps on all aspects of a person, including physical, mental, psychic, and spiritual levels.”
The session showed enthusiastic participation from over 40 faculty and staff members. The day was a huge success as techniques to calm the mind and the body were learned.
