Eco-friendly celebrations mark Earth Day

Young Earth heroes shine bright at Apeejay School, Noida, nurturing a greener tomorrow

Robert Swan, a renowned advocate for Antarctic conservation and renewable energy, once remarked, “The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.” In line with this powerful quote, Apeejay School, Noida, celebrated Earth Day 2025 with a series of engaging and thoughtful activities aimed at spreading environmental awareness. The theme this year was: Our Power, Our Planet. It encouraged students to come together and take responsibility for the Earth’s well-being.

Hands-on learning for little ones

The youngest learners — nursery and kindergarten students — expressed their love for the planet through art. They created Earth-shaped badges using paper cutouts, decorated with blue and green crayons and heart symbols. This fun and creative activity helped the children understand the importance of loving and protecting their planet.

Students of Class I became proud eco-defenders by designing special crowns. Each crown carried the message: “Plant a tree, protect the land — together we lend a helping hand!” Through this activity, students were reminded of their vital role in saving the Earth.

Eco-messages that hang with pride

The wall-hanging activity for Class II was a vibrant display of creativity and awareness. Using paper plates painted to resemble Earth, students added heart-shaped cutouts and illustrated habits like recycling, saving water, and using electricity wisely. This activity encouraged students to reflect on their daily choices.

Power-saving reminders

Class III students brought sustainability home. They created colourful “Energy Saver” signs to hang near light switches. These simple reminders were designed to help families save energy, one light at a time.

Creative calls to action

Class IV students also made wall hangings, but with a focus on broader environmental actions. Their messages centred on saving water, planting trees, and reducing pollution. The students showed deep understanding and artistic flair in their work.

Turning waste into wisdom

Class V students took the message further by creating mini books from waste paper. These tiny books were filled with drawings and notes urging people to take care of nature. The activity not only reinforced eco-friendly habits but also encouraged reuse and recycling.

Through these thoughtful and age-appropriate activities, students across all classes learnt that every action counts. The Earth Day celebrations at Apeejay School, Noida, served as a gentle reminder that protecting the planet begins with individual responsibility. The event truly brought alive the message — Our Power, Our Planet.
