
The 78th Independence Day celebrations at Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar were marked by an overwhelming sense of patriotism and national pride. The campus buzzed with energy as students, faculty, and staff gathered to honour India’s rich history and envision its bright future.
The event commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of AIMETC, who addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech. Dr. Bagga highlighted the significance of this year’s Independence Day theme, “Viksit Bharat” or “Developed India”, which aligns with the Indian government’s vision of transforming the country into a fully developed nation by 2047. He emphasised that this vision is not just a goal but a call to action for every citizen to contribute to the nation’s progress in their own unique ways.
Dr. Bagga also paid tribute to Dr. Stya Paul Ji, the revered Founder Chairman of Apeejay Stya Group & Apeejay Education, who played a significant role in the freedom movement. He further acknowledged the ongoing efforts of Apeejay Education under the dynamic leadership of Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor Apeejay Stya University, and Chairman, Apeejay Education, in nation-building through education.
The Independence Day celebrations at AIMETC were a vibrant mix of activities that reflected the spirit of unity, patriotism, and progress. The event was hosted by Meghdeep Kaur and Sukhnandan Kaur, both students of MCA III, who set the tone for the day with their enthusiasm and energy.
The program included powerful speeches by students, who addressed the potential and responsibility of the youth in driving India towards a path of progress and development. Prachi of BBA I, Mannan of BBA III, Sarabjit of B Tech (CSE) I, Gursimran of B Tech (CSE) III, and Piyush of B Tech(CSE) VII delivered stirring speeches that ignited a spark of motivation among the attendees, urging them to actively contribute to the nation’s growth story.
In addition to the speeches, the event featured poetic recitations by Gurdeep of BBA I, Meghdeep of MCA III, and Sukhnandan of MCA III. Their eloquent verses and heartfelt expressions left a lasting impact on the audience, showcasing the power of words in evoking emotions and inspiring action.
The highlight of the event was a soul-stirring performance by Komal, a student of BBA I, who captivated everyone with her melodious rendition of a patriotic song. Her performance was a poignant reminder of the values that bind us as a nation and the sacrifices made by those who fought for our freedom.
Dr. Bagga concluded the event by congratulating the NCC Wing, led by Convenor Mr. Rohit Verma and Co-Convenor Mr. Vikas Kumar, for their exemplary efforts in organising a memorable Independence Day celebration. He also commended the NCC Cadets for their active participation and contribution to the success of the event. All in all, the celebration was a true reflection of the institute’s commitment to fostering a sense of unity, patriotism, and excellence among its students.
