She is from Jalandhar and is a homemaker. What is interesting is that she has had a long association with Apeejay Education. She is an alumna of Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), batch 20212) from where she completed her BCom (Hons) and her children are studying at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg. Meet Avani Arora.
In an impromptu interview, she talks about her cherished memories at ACFA and why she chose Apeejay School for her kids.
Did you study at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg from the beginning?

No, I only attended ACFA for my BCom. My schooling was elsewhere, but both my children are at present, enrolled at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg. And both of them are doing great here.
What are your cherished memories from your college days?
ACFA felt like a second home to me. I fondly remember a few of the faculty, who, I believe are no longer there. They were supportive and boosted our confidence. The annual functions like Pinnacle, talent hunts, and various cultural events provided platforms for every student to shine. College life was full of fun — preparing for events, hanging out with friends in the canteen, and participating in cultural functions.
Why did you choose Apeejay School for your children?
Having experienced the quality education at ACFA, I was confident in the institute. The school offers everything — academic excellence, extracurricular activities, and a supportive environment. It’s located in the heart of the city, making it easily accessible. The present principal is very approachable and listens to parents’ concerns.
How has your experience been with the teachers here?
The teachers are excellent. My daughter is in class V, and my son is in LKG. Teachers, who oversee the primary wing, treat every child as their own.

Are your children involved in extracurricular activities?
Yes, my daughter plays badminton and takes professional coaching outside the school. She will likely join the school team once she reaches class VI.
What stands out to you about Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg?
Apeejay School is synonymous with excellence in education. Even after 20 years, its values remain intact. The school emphasises discipline, values, and cultural learning. My younger son has learnt religious stories like The Ramayan and The Mahabharat from the teachers, keeping him connected to our traditions.
How has the school’s focus on discipline impacted you and your children?
Discipline at school is essential. They have rules like banning mobile phones, which I appreciate as a parent. The structured environment teaches children their limits, enabling them to develop disciplined habits that extend into their daily lives. Since children spend six to seven hours a day in school, this discipline positively shapes their personalities and daily routines.
How does the school’s environment make you feel as a parent?
The school creates a homely and caring environment, something I experienced during my college days. As a parent, I feel reassured knowing my children are in safe hands, with access to comprehensive facilities including sports, dance, and cultural events.

How approachable is the school administration?
The principal is very approachable and responsive. She listens to parents’ concerns and addresses them promptly, ensuring a continuous positive experience. The teachers here build personal bonds with students, treating them with care and ensuring they feel supported academically and emotionally.
I have formed meaningful connections with other parents through school events and meetings. This supportive parent network adds to the positive school experience.
How has your daughter progressed academically or personally?
My daughter has shown significant academic progress and developed a strong interest in sports, particularly badminton. The school has played a major role in nurturing her potential.
