The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the results of the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduates (CUET-UG) 2025 on Friday. Among the over 10 lakh candidates who appeared for the exam, only one achieved a rare feat—scoring 100 percentile in four out of five subjects.
According to the NTA, 17 candidates secured 100 percentile in three subjects, while 150 candidates achieved this score in two subjects. Additionally, 2,679 candidates scored a perfect percentile in one subject.
This year’s examination saw a total registration of 13,54,699 candidates, out of which 10,71,735 appeared for the test. This marked a drop of nearly 32,000 candidates compared to the previous year. The gender-wise breakdown includes 7,06,760 male, 6,47,934 female, and five transgender candidates.
English remained the most preferred subject, opted for by 8,14,640 candidates. It was followed by the General Aptitude Test with 6,59,757 candidates, and Chemistry with 5,70,869 takers.
The exam was conducted across 35 shifts between May 13 and June 4, after being postponed from its initial start date of May 8. CUET-UG allows students to apply to central, state, deemed, and private universities through a single-window admission process. Candidates were allowed to choose five subjects from a pool of 37.
A total of 322 unique question papers were prepared, encompassing 1,059 versions and featuring 57,940 questions in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, and Urdu.
The NTA confirmed that participating universities will now prepare their individual merit lists and conduct counselling sessions based on the CUET-UG 2025 scorecards. The results pave the way for the next phase of undergraduate admissions across India.
