The Marketing Club of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC),  Jalandhar organised an engaging academic activity titled “Rebranding Challenge – Reimagining Logos, Taglines & Brand Positioning for Struggling Brands”.  The event provided students with a dynamic platform to explore modern branding’s creative and strategic aspects while applying their marketing knowledge to real-world scenarios.

The activity witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of MBA, BBA, and B.Com, who stepped into the role of branding strategists and creative marketers. In an era where brands must continuously evolve to remain relevant in a competitive marketplace, the challenge encouraged participants to rethink and revitalise the identities of globally recognised yet struggling brands.

The event began with students conducting a detailed diagnosis of the existing brand positioning. Participants critically analysed each brand’s current market perception, identifying gaps in communication, declining relevance among consumers, and the impact of increasing competition. This analytical exercise helped students understand the complexities involved in managing and revitalising established brands.

Building on this analysis, participants moved to the creative phase of the challenge, where they were tasked with redesigning brand logos, developing compelling taglines, identifying new target audiences, and crafting effective brand positioning strategies. Their objective was to align these strategies with evolving consumer expectations and contemporary market trends.

What made the event particularly remarkable was the seamless integration of analytical thinking with creative innovation. Students not only focused on visual appeal but also ensured that their rebranding proposals were practical, relevant, and capable of creating a meaningful impact in the marketplace.

The final presentations reflected a high level of professionalism and confidence. Participants showcased their ideas with clarity and strategic insight, mirroring the working style of professional marketing agencies. The exercise allowed students to gain hands-on experience in brand strategy, consumer perception, and marketing communication.

At the end of the competition, Rinkl, Gurdeep Singh, and Ranvir Singh from BBA IV emerged as the winners for their impressive rebranding concepts and well-articulated strategies. The runner-up positions were secured by Umesh Pandey and Ravneet Singh from MBA IV, whose creative ideas and thoughtful presentations were also widely appreciated.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director, AIMETC, emphasised the importance of such experiential learning initiatives. “Through the Rebranding Challenge, we foster creativity and strategic insight, preparing our students for dynamic marketing roles,” he added.

He further remarked that these activities help nurture future-ready professionals by encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and strategic insight among students. He also appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students and highlighted the importance of industry-oriented activities in strengthening their practical understanding of marketing concepts.

Dr. Bagga further commended the dedicated efforts of Marketing Club coordinators Mr. Rahul Handa and Ms. Amarjit Kaur for successfully conceptualising and executing the event.

The Rebranding Challenge proved to be a valuable learning experience, allowing students to blend creativity with strategic marketing thinking. The activity not only strengthened their understanding of branding principles but also encouraged them to approach business challenges with innovative and solution-oriented perspectives.
