Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar marked National Voters’ Day by organising vibrant Rangoli and Slogan Writing Competitions under the joint auspices of the Election Commission of India, the District Administration, and the District Election Office. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various colleges across the Jalandhar district, transforming the campus into a lively platform of creativity, awareness, and civic responsibility.
The competitions were organised with the primary objective of sensitising young voters about the importance of their vote and reinforcing the idea that even a single vote has the power to bring about meaningful change in a democracy. Participants were encouraged to express their ideas creatively, keeping in mind the theme of National Voters’ Day, which emphasises informed, ethical, and responsible voting.


The Rangoli Competition showcased artistic brilliance and thoughtful messaging, with students using colours and symbols to highlight democratic values and voter awareness. The competition was judged by a distinguished panel comprising Ms. Rajni Gupta, Head, Department of Design; Dr. Supreet Talwar, Head, Department of Economics; and Dr. Monika Anand, Head, Department of Home Science.
In a closely contested event, Divanshu Verma from Guru Nanak Dev University College, Ladowali Road, Jalandhar, and the team of Palak, Vansh, and Chahak from Apeejay College of Fine Arts jointly secured the first position. The second position was bagged by Yashita from B. R. Ambedkar College, Boota Mandi, Jalandhar, while the team of Yuvika, Samita, and Gurukamalpreet Kaur from Apeejay College secured the third position. Muskan, Niharika Sharma, and Komal from Apeejay College were awarded the consolation prize for their commendable efforts.

The Slogan Writing Competition proved equally engaging, with participants crafting impactful slogans that conveyed strong messages about voting rights and democratic participation. The judging panel included Mr. Anil Gupta from the Department of Applied Art and Mr. Vikram Singh. Chandan from Apeejay College of Fine Arts secured the first position, while Lionpreet Kaur and Shivani Rajak from B. R. Ambedkar College jointly won the second position. The third position was shared by Pallavi from B. D. Arya College and Khushpreet Kaur from Apeejay College of Fine Arts. Shivalika Bansal and Pranjal Sharma from Apeejay College, along with Riya from B. D. Arya College, received the consolation prize.
Congratulating the winners and participants, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra lauded the students for their creativity and active involvement. She urged them to remember the core purpose behind such initiatives and emphasised the need to exercise their right to vote responsibly. She further encouraged students to act as ambassadors of voter awareness, inspiring others to understand the significance of voting in strengthening democracy.

The event successfully blended creativity with civic education, reinforcing Apeejay College of Fine Arts’ commitment to nurturing socially aware and responsible citizens.
