Recently, Apeejay School, Model Town, hosted Bharat Raksha Parv, a stirring tribute to the spirit of patriotism and national service. Held in collaboration with Dainik Jagran, the event aimed to honour India’s armed forces and inspire young minds to understand the value of discipline, courage, and commitment to the country.

Retired Air Commodore SS Kaushik graced the event as the chief guest. With years of service in the Indian Air Force, his presence brought gravity and authenticity to the occasion. His address didn’t just speak of battles or uniforms. It spoke of values. He talked about how warfare is changing, how technology plays a crucial role in defence today, and why discipline is not just for soldiers; it’s for anyone who wants to lead a meaningful life.

What struck a chord was his call to the youth. He urged students to consider the armed forces as a career, not just for a job, but for the honour of serving the nation. His words, steeped in experience and passion, resonated deeply with the students, faculty, and guests in attendance.

A moment of gratitude

The school’s Principal expressed sincere thanks to Air Commodore Kaushik, acknowledging the depth of his message and the impact it left. A token of appreciation was presented to him, accompanied by warm words of respect from the school community. It was a small gesture for a man who has given so much to the nation, but it came straight from the heart.

Bharat Raksha Parv wasn’t just about performances or speeches. It was about understanding what it means to belong to a country, to stand for something larger than oneself. Students walked away not just proud, but thoughtful. And that’s the real success of any school event — when it stays with you, long after the day ends.

Apeejay School, Model Town, once again proved that education isn’t just about books. It’s about building character, fostering respect, and preparing students for life.
