Art is a creative form of human expression that encompasses a wide range of
disciplines including visual arts, music, literature, theater, dance, and much more. Fortunate are the souls on whom this faculty is bestowed by the almighty. But blessed are those who not only cultivate their own gifts but also help others cultivate thiers.
Smt Rajeshwari Paul, the first lady of the Apeejay Education Society was one such soul. On the auspicious occasion of her 100th birth anniversary, Apeejay School, Nerul organised Rajeshwari Kala Utsav to pay artistic tribute to the noble soul.
Smt. Rajeshwari Paul, the beloved wife of the Founder-Chairman of Apeejay Education and Apeejay Stya Group, Dr. Stya Paul, was remembered for her generous nature, unconditional love, and noble personality. The first lady possessed in her heart, a deep love towards art and culture and had an ahead of time vision to include art in the education curriculum in order to facilitate the holistic development of students.
The Utsav was celebrated in the school compound with great enthusiasm and fervor. The event aimed to showcase the incredible talents of the students and provide them a platform to express their creativity.
To mark the birth centenary of Smt. Rajeshwari Paul, the school dignitaries gathered for a ceremonial lighting of the lamp. This act symbolised the collective wish to bring forth positivity and enlightenment, fostering a sense of unity among all. As the holy flame illuminated the room, it was a poignant reminder of Smt. The school choir, composed of talented middle school students with angelic voices, captivated the audience with their harmonies and impeccable vocal control. The collaborative musical exposition effortlessly blended their talents to create a magical moment which reflected the
emotional bond between a mother and child.
This was followed by a special dance performance dedicated to Smt. Rajeshwari Paul and her daughter, Ms. Sushma Paul Berlia, President of the Apeejay Education Society and Apeejay Stya Group.
The dance performance was based on the idea of a mother’s impact in a child’s life and how the child carries forward those values instilled by the parent. The dance beautifully showcased the grace, wisdom, and love passed down from a mother to her daughter, and it was the highlight of the event.
Additionally, an art exhibition by the school art team and students focused was organised. The exhibition contributions were remarkable, the pieces displayed their understanding and appreciation of the profound influence a
mother has on the child’s life.
