Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with great fervour, honouring the legacy of Late Dr Stya Paul, Founder Chairman of Apeejay Stya Group & Apeejay Education. Dr. Stya Paul, a dedicated freedom fighter, played a significant role in India’s struggle for independence. The celebration was a reflection of the school’s commitment to imparting value-based education, as envisioned by Dr. Stya Paul and Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor Apeejay Stya University, and Chairman, Apeejay Education . The day was marked by a series of inspiring activities that instilled a deep sense of patriotism among the students.
The officiating Principal, Ms. Priyanka Grover, initiated the Independence Day celebrations by hoisting the Tricolour, a symbol of India’s hard-earned freedom. The event witnessed vibrant participation from the students, especially from the Primary wing and the Rhythms Kinderworld, where the young learners dressed in tri-colored attire to showcase their patriotic spirit.
A heartwarming gesture of the day was the creation of handmade rakhis by the students, which were sent to the Border Security Force (BSF) jawans, the real heroes who safeguard the nation’s freedom. The atmosphere was filled with patriotic fervor as the students presented a soul-stirring group song, followed by poems that paid tribute to India’s national heroes and freedom fighters. The assembly served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by these brave souls to secure the nation’s independence.
The event also featured speeches that highlighted the achievements of a stronger, more resilient India, encouraging the students to appreciate the nation’s progress. A unique and interactive aspect of the celebration was the Freedom wall of thoughts, where the Principal, parents, and teachers shared their emotions and reflections on freedom. Students eagerly asked questions about the freedom struggle, which were answered enthusiastically by the participating parents.
In addition to the patriotic celebrations, the school took the opportunity to recognize a few outstanding student achievers—Sanchit Gupta, Ayaan Bhatia, Anam Bhatia, and Khushveen Kaur—who were felicitated by Ms. Grover. In her address, the Principal urged the students to follow the righteous path laid out by India’s great leaders and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development. She reminded all students that each and every citizen has a role to play in helping the nation prosper.
Overall, the celebration at Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, was not just a commemoration of the past, but a call to action for the future. As the event concluded, the spirit of patriotism and pride resonated deeply within every participant, inspiring them to uphold the values of justice, freedom, and equality that form the bedrock of our nation. With the legacy of Dr. Stya Paul as their guiding light, the students left the celebration with a renewed commitment to building a brighter, stronger India.
