CBSE school invites parents to become active partners in children’s academic journey

For newly enrolled students of class VI, Apeejay School, Noida, organised a parent orientation programme to take them through the school’s innovative curriculum, student-friendly policies, and upcoming activities in the current academic year.

Ritu Kohli, principal, Apeejay School, Noida, officially welcomed the guests and went on to highlight Apeejay’s mission to inculcate good values in children in the pursuit of man-making and nation-building. She invited parents to be active partners in their child’s journey of growth.

The principal also talked about how following a timetable and awarding credit points based on children’s progress could be helpful in their academic journey. She further encouraged children to make use of the library to enhance their comprehension and reading skills.

The school’s vice-principal, Sonal Srivastava, took the stage to talk about their assessment policy comprising regular formative assessments, periodic tests, and term examinations. She further explained the criteria for promotion from one class to another as well as the grading system.

To ensure a child’s steady growth, parental involvement is equally crucial, the vice-principal emphasised. She urged them to regularly monitor their child’s academic progress. But that is not all! They should also walk hand-in-hand with Apeejay to push children to participate in the frequently organised co-curricular activities at the school. Such activities help develop children’s creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills.

The programme was quite successful. It oriented parents and students to the school ethos as they geared up to embark on an educational journey.

Apeejay School, Noida, was founded in 1981 under the aegis of Apeejay Education Society’s founder chairman Dr Stya Paul.
