CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2025: ‘Review the syllabus thoroughly to understand the topics’

The CBSE Class 10 Social Science exam, scheduled for February 25, 2025, will cover History, Geography, Political Science, and Economics. Conducted for 80 marks in 3 hours, it includes 37 questions divided into six sections consisting of multiple choice questions, long answers and short answers.

According to Ms Amita Tiwari, TGT Social Science at Apeejay School, Kharghar, with the right strategies, students can make the most of their time and improve their chances of success. Here are some steps students can follow, the educator said.

• Timetable: Develop a realistic study timetable that allocates time for each subject and topic.
• Daily Goals: Set daily or weekly goals to cover specific chapters or concepts.
• Make Notes: Summarize Create concise notes for each chapter, highlighting key points, dates, and definitions.
• Mind Maps: Use mind maps to connect different concepts and themes.

Exam writing skills tips

• Structure answers: Follow a clear structure: introduction, main points, and conclusion. Use bullet points where appropriate for clarity.
• Understand the exam pattern: Focus on thoroughly understanding the NCERT textbook, practice previous year question papers, create concise notes, master map-based questions, regularly revise key concepts, and pay close attention to time management during the exam, while also seeking clarification on any doubts you might have. 
•  Practice past papers: Solve previous year’s question papers to understand the exam format, question types, and time management needed.
•  Map work: Practice locating important geographical features on a map and be comfortable with map-based questions. Try to understand location when practising map markings.
•  Regular revision: Schedule regular revision sessions to reinforce key concepts and prevent last-minute cramming. 
•  Conceptual understanding: Focus on understanding concepts rather than rote memorization. Use diagrams, charts, and maps to visualize information.
•  Understand the context thoroughly: Case-based questions present real-life or hypothetical scenarios related to historical events, economic situations, or political challenges. Begin by carefully reading the provided case, ensuring you grasp the context before attempting the questions. Identify key information such as dates, locations and events, involved. 
•  Make a study schedule: Plan your study time effectively by creating a schedule. Allocate specific time slots for each topic or subject, ensuring that you cover all the necessary material.
•  Time management: During the exam, allocate time wisely to each section and ensure you attempt all questions within the given time limit. 

•  Seek clarification: If you have any doubts, seek help from your teacher or mentors to clear concepts. 
• Take breaks: While studying intensively, it’s important to take short breaks to rest and recharge. Use these breaks to stretch, relax, or engage in a physical activity to keep your mind fresh. Most importantly talk to your Parents and near ones to overcome stress.
• Establish a regular sleep routine, eat balanced meals, and stay hydrated. Include exercise in your daily routine to reduce stress and enhance focus. Take breaks, practice relaxation techniques, and seek support when needed. Taking care of yourself is essential for performing at your best during board exams.
• Stay positive: Maintain a positive mindset and confidence in your preparation.
