Apeejay School, Rama Mandi marks Baisakhi with colour, culture, and celebration

Apeejay School, Rama Mandi in Jalandhar celebrated the vibrant festival of Baisakhi with great enthusiasm and cultural fervour. The event was not only a festive celebration but also an educational initiative to acquaint students with the cultural richness and historical importance of this joyous occasion.

A Soulful Beginning

The celebrations commenced on a serene note with a soulful Shabad, creating a spiritual atmosphere that filled the hall with peace and gratitude. This devotional start set the tone for the morning, grounding the students in the deeper values of the festival.

Words that Inspire and Educate

Following this, Mannat Kaur of class 4 delivered a thoughtful message that reflected the true spirit of Baisakhi — unity, perseverance, and prosperity. Her speech beautifully conveyed how the festival embodies gratitude for the harvest and inspires collective well-being.

The poetic charm of the day came alive with Gurseerat Kaur of class 7, who recited a Punjabi poem celebrating Baisakhi’s essence in lyrical splendour. Adding further depth, Eknoor Kaur of class 6 shared a well-researched talk on the significance of the festival. She eloquently explained Baisakhi’s dual importance: as a harvest festival and as the commemoration of the formation of the Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

Dance of Celebration

The cultural highlight of the day was an electrifying traditional folk dance performance by the students of Class 5. Dressed in vibrant attire, the students brought alive the joy of the harvest season with energetic moves and radiant expressions, capturing the true essence of Punjabi tradition.

A Message of Cultural Pride

The event concluded on an inspirational note with an address by Vice Principal Ms. Aarti Shorey Bhat. In her message, she emphasized the importance of preserving and celebrating cultural heritage. She urged students to embrace the values of harmony, gratitude, and togetherness that lie at the heart of festivals like Baisakhi.
