In a bid to keep parents well-informed and strengthen the home–school partnership, Apeejay School, Model Town organised a virtual interaction with parents of Grade X students. The engaging session was led by the school’s Principal, Dr. Rajesh Chandel, and focused on the CBSE’s newly introduced Two-Board Examination Policy for Class X, which will be effective from 2026.

Understanding the New Policy

Dr. Chandel explained in detail how the Two-Board Examination Policy is designed to reduce exam-related stress, ensure better learning outcomes, and give students an additional opportunity to showcase their knowledge. By breaking down the assessment pattern, including timelines, syllabus coverage, and rules for subject improvement, the principal ensured that parents had a comprehensive understanding of the new system.

A major highlight of the session was the exam schedule – the main examination in mid-February, followed by a second examination in May. Both exams will cover the complete syllabus, encouraging students to maintain consistent preparation throughout the academic year.

Dr. Chandel further clarified essential conditions:

The first exam is mandatory for all students.

A three-subject improvement limit allows students to improve scores only in a maximum of three subjects in the second attempt.

If a student misses three or more subjects in the first exam, they will not be eligible for the second exam.

Results and Their Impact

The principal also addressed the results structure. The provisional results from the first exam in April can be used for Class XI admissions, while the final results will be declared in June. Merit certificates will be issued only after the second exam.

This ensures that students treat both examinations with equal seriousness while also relieving the burden of a single “do-or-die” attempt.

Parents’ Role in Student Success

The interactive nature of the session allowed parents to raise queries on preparation strategies and the practical implications of the policy. Dr. Chandel patiently addressed each concern, reassuring parents that the school will continue to provide strong academic support.

The school emphasised that parental involvement is crucial in building students’ confidence and motivation during this important academic phase. By working together, both home and school can create a nurturing environment where students feel supported to perform to the best of their abilities.
